- ABOUT ME
Jaci Yong
Your experience is a source of strength, and your accompanying emotions are what make you deeply human. I believe in finding ways to harness our experiences and express our inner emotions in ways that feel authentic to our values, culture, beliefs, and overall life perspective. My goal is to support you through a point in your journey where you are feeling stuck or isolated, whether it may be due to relationship/interpersonal stress, a life transition, depression, anxiety, trauma, broader world/daily life stress, etc. In our work together, we can develop and nurture your inner resilience to allow your pain to move through you.
I work mostly with children and young adults, but I welcome clients of all ages. My background is in crisis and trauma work, as well as LGBTQ+ and BIPOC advocacy. I am committed to creating an inclusive and affirming space where all clients feel respected and valued. My approach is person-centered, integrating expressive modalities of healing and strengths-based techniques tailored to your goals and needs.
What do you do for fun?
Make art, write songs/poetry, cook and experiment with new recipes, karaoke, go on nature walks, yoga, dance, make Pinterest boards.
What makes you weird?
Instead of a sweet tooth, I have a savory tooth (for example, I enjoy drinking pickle juice or putting salt and crushed chili pepper on my fruit)
What do people (e.g. clients, peers, friends, family) say about you?
That I am open-minded, eccentric, understanding, compassionate, collaborative, an active listener, in touch with today's climate and culture, and that I make people feel seen and heard.
