- ABOUT ME
Monique Muzeja
Life naturally ebbs and flows. While facing difficulties is a part of the human experience, it can understandably feel overwhelming and isolating — especially when we find ourselves stuck in cycles of worry, self-doubt, or emotional distress. I am here to help you gently navigate these experiences by building self-compassion, resilience, and awareness- using mindfulness and personalized coping skills that may be integrated into daily life. I am passionate about creating a warm, comfortable space where folx of all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences feel truly seen, validated, and safe to show up as their most authentic selves. I am particularly attuned to the needs of highly sensitive people (HSPs) and those navigating emotional vulnerability in a fast-paced, often overwhelming world. With the brain's ability to change and form new neural connections, I strongly believe growth is always possible and can start in therapy. Together, we’ll work toward a life of greater ease, clarity, and in alignment with the values and aspirations that matter most to you.

What do you do for fun?
My hobbies consist of playing electric bass guitar, thrifting, running, hiking, painting, and going to concerts. I also love performing live in a band!
What makes you weird?
I have an abundance of stuffed animals. Hugging a stuffed animal can actually release oxytocin in the brain, which promotes feelings of relaxation, reduces stress, and enhances emotional well-being!
What do people (e.g. clients, peers, friends, family) say about you?
People describe me as compassionate, calm, creative, sensitive, nonjudgmental, and comfortable to be around.
What additional trainings have you completed that enhance your expertise as a counselor?
