- ABOUT ME
Diane Knichel Bohley
I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself and know you can talk openly without being judged. My approach is person-centered and solution-focused, which means I’ll meet you where you are, but I’ll also gently challenge you when it might help you see something differently or recognize a pattern that’s getting in your way. My background in vocational rehabilitation counseling has taught me that there is no one size fits all answer, and sometimes figuring out what works for you is what matters most. I especially enjoy working with teens, young adults, and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, going through a change, or just trying to figure out what comes next. I’m down to earth, practical, and believe there’s room for humor in therapy too, because even when we’re working through hard things, it’s okay to laugh along the way.
What do you do for fun?
I love spending time with my family, whether they’re near or far, traveling, singing, learning new things, and being outside whenever I can. The ocean is probably my favorite place to be, and I’ll take any excuse to get there! I’m also a huge animal lover; dogs, cats, birds... pretty much all of them. I enjoy exploring new places, laughing a lot, and spending time with the people (and animals) I love.
What makes you weird?
I’ve always believed that being a little weird makes life more interesting. I embrace my quirks, don’t take myself too seriously, and think “normal” is probably overrated anyway.
What do people (e.g. clients, peers, friends, family) say about you?
I’ve been told I’m kind, caring, a good listener and easy to talk to. I’m also fun, have a great laugh, and am always willing to hear someone else’s point of view. I care a lot about people and try to make sure they know it.
