- ABOUT ME
Shelby Thompson
I became a therapist because I know what it feels like when life feels overwhelming and getting through seems impossible. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and experiences. My role is not to tell you who you are or what your life should look like, but to walk alongside you — bringing my knowledge and expertise in mental health as we work together to better understand what you are experiencing. My approach to therapy is creative, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through relationships. I strive to create a space where you can show up as your full, authentic self, say the things you may feel afraid to say, and know that we can figure things out together. I am a compassionate listener who can help you get to the heart of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while recognizing and building upon the strengths you already have.I am especially passionate about working with individuals with disabilities, neurodivergence, and trauma, and I bring both professional experience and personal understanding to this work. I believe therapy should be welcoming and accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities or life experiences, and I am committed to reducing barriers whenever I can.My hope is to help you build new skills, confidence, and self-understanding so you can move toward a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and true to who you are.
